Random Even Graphs

چکیده
We study a random even subgraph of a finite graph G with a general edge-weight p ∈ (0, 1). We demonstrate how it may be obtained from a certain random-cluster measure on G, and we propose a sampling algorithm based on coupling from the past. A random even subgraph of a planar lattice undergoes a phase transition at the parameter-value 12pc, where pc is the critical point of the q = 2 random-cluster model on the dual lattice. The properties of such a graph are discussed, and are related to Schramm–Löwner evolutions (SLE).

Coloring Random and Semi-Random k-Colorable Graphs
The problem of coloring a graph with the minimum number of colors is well known to be NPhard, even restricted to k-colorable graphs for constant k 3. On the other hand, it is known that random k-colorable graphs are easy to k-color. The algorithms for coloring random kcolorable graphs require fairly high edge densities, however. In this paper we present algorithms that color randomly generated ...
متن کاملRandom Graphs from a Weighted Minor-Closed Class
There has been much recent interest in random graphs sampled uniformly from the n-vertex graphs in a suitable minor-closed class, such as the class of all planar graphs. Here we use combinatorial and probabilistic methods to investigate a more general model. We consider random graphs from a ‘well-behaved’ class of graphs: examples of such classes include all minor-closed classes of graphs with ...
متن کاملRandom cubic planar graphs
We show that the number of labeled cubic planar graphs on n vertices with n even is asymptotically αnρn!, where ρ . = 3.13259 and α are analytic constants. We show also that the chromatic number of a random cubic planar graph that is chosen uniformly at random among all the labeled cubic planar graphs on n vertices is three with probability tending to e /4! . = 0.999568, and is four with probab...
متن کاملRandom geometric graphs.
We analyze graphs in which each vertex is assigned random coordinates in a geometric space of arbitrary dimensionality and only edges between adjacent points are present. The critical connectivity is found numerically by examining the size of the largest cluster. We derive an analytical expression for the cluster coefficient, which shows that the graphs are distinctly different from standard ra...
متن کاملLinear Arboricity of Random Regular Graphs
An easy count ing argument shows here that la(G)>f . f f t " d i f f icu l ty is in establishing the upper bound. This problem has received much attention; see Alon [1]. We show here how Alon's beautiful treatment for graphs with large girth allows us easily to handle random regular graphs. By the random regular graph G,,, (where rn is even) we mean a graph picked uniformly at random from the s...
متن کاملThe Asymptotic Number of Unlabelled Regular Graphs
Over ten years ago Wright [4] proved a fundamental theorem in the theory of random graphs. He showed that if M = M(n) is such that almost no labelled graph of order n and size M has two isolated vertices or two vertices of degree n — 1, then the number of labelled graphs of order n and size M divided by the number of unlabelled graphs of order n and size M is asymptotic to n\. The result is bes...
